Gupter Puncher Issue 8 [Preview]

               Gupter Puncher is alive!

Gupter Puncher has returned from the desert highway of Los Albaricoques, and the snowy snow of Bolzano, and…LaCoruna…

…and somewhere along the way picked issue 8 of Gupter out of the dirt.

It will be in London, New York, and I don’t really know why, LA.

Gupter Puncher is disappearing for a while.

Maybe a couple of months. I’m not sure.

I’m going to look for the castle in The Fearless Vampire Killers, the castle in the snow, and it may take some time.

…

It’s such a beautiful castle.

Or it was such a beautiful castle in 1966, when the film was done. I don’t know what it looks like now. I don’t even really know where it is.

I think it’s in the Dolomites.

If someone knows any different, let me know.

Gupter Puncher [The Bill Murray Issue, no.7]

It starts with Bill Murray in black and white [drawn by Sarah E Melville!]

Then…

There’s Tomomi at the Cannes Film festa. Or it should’ve been. That all happened last May, and Tomomi was there…until being led away by Mad Vince Gallo to Padua and then the streets of Bologna. But she did see a couple of films, like Socialism by Godard, Blue Valentine with Ryan Gosling…as well as a couple on the horizon. [Green Hornet]

There’s also Jamie Foxx learning Spanish for Collateral.

Matt Damon slaughtering French in the Bournes.

Quentin Tarantino telling an interviewer to fuck him in Japanese.

And some other stuff along the same lines, all kinda linked with each other and-…

Then…

It kinda blows up on itself in the middle and goes in a whole other direction.

A direction which includes Bret Easton Ellis. And Milan Kundera. And Alain De Botton. And James Ellroy.

It’s all really hard to explain, and I don’t think I’m doing a very good job of it…but perhaps you get the idea?

Oh yeah…

There’s also something by Lenox Parker [Year Zero].

And Lawrence Gray [Year Zero].

And Marcella O Connor [Year Zero].

So…

It’s gonna be in various places around Hong Kong and New York [and London in November], and if none of those places are good for you then most of it will come up eventually on the website anyway.

‘Charcoal’ [My new book] Vs Publication!

Earlier this year I wrote a miserable book called ‘Charcoal’, about a guy trying to save a Korean model from suicide.

Good news, it’s been picked up and will be published in October by Eight Cuts Gallery Press.

I’ll put up more info about that sometime in September

Gupter Issue 6 [Preview]

             Gupter Puncher Issue 6                     

I said I wouldn’t do another issue for a while, but I was bored in April so I wrote another. This one is the beat issue.

You’ll know what I mean when you see it.

And if you don’t see it then I’ll tell you now.

It means there are pictures of lots of beat writers, like Kerouac, Cassady, Burroughs [He holds a gun in most of his pics, sometimes pointing it at a dog] and Ginsberg.

If you don’t know any of these guys, or you only know Kerouac, then don’t panic. I have also included Casey Affleck.

If you don’t like Affleck then you’re fucked.

Unless you like Tom Cruise or cabinets, as I’ve put in the story ‘The many cabinets of Tom Cruise.’ Well, most of it. See, Mr. Cruise somehow found out about the story and has forced me to redact a lot of the text. But there’s still some quality there.

GUPTER PUNCHER: Issue 5 preview

The next issue is almost done.

If I had to guess, I’d say it’ll be out by Feb. 25th. But there’s usually a fuck up in the printing department, so who knows?

But when it does come, the theme will be religion.

Probably not Islam though. I don’t want to die for a magazine read by five people.

Would extremists find a copy of Gupter Puncher?

It’s unlikely, but…as soon as you satirise something, the something will find out…

So, no Islam.

But there will be other things.

Like:
